Prue Blake and Becky Swannick – Wendy and Phoebe, Part 1

They say opposites attract, but not in this instance! Wendy and Phoebe both hate tomatoes, love badminton and have identical erogenous zones (left nipple). What’s more, they both own a copy of Paul Blart: Mall Cop (Special Edition). Dr Karen Debbie Cradle uses dairy therapy to encourage each partner to explore her identity and sets a challenging homework task involving Coles. Also, Karen gets triggered. On today's episode, Wendy was played by Prue Blake (@prueyyy on Instagram) and Fee was played by Becky Swannick (@mr.beckyswannick on Instagram).

Jacob Sacher – Introducing Pescel Mirvington PhD

Karen’s personal therapist, PhD supervisor and guide-mother, Pescel Mirvington PhD, pops by to shed some light on Karen’s unorthodox counselling methods. Pescel and Karen discuss Freudian developmental stages, sandplay, pogo therapy, sports therapy and their unique relationship. Pescel calls out Karen’s famous sense of humour as a defence mechanism, but don’t worry – they’re working on it. With the help of a tin of Heinz Baby Custard. On today's episode, Pescel was played by Jacob Sacher (@JacobSacher on Twitter).

Tom Fahey and Hill Kuttner – Egbert and Phil, Part 1

Phil loves Egbert deeply, but Egbert describes himself as “a raging psychopath” and a “human maggot”. Phil insists that Egbert is the sweetest person he’s ever met and once saved a baby scorpion from drowning. The one place Egbert can let go is in the bedroom, where his “horrible” self is able to meld into Phil’s “beautiful” self and become “one normal person”. Karen encourages Egbert to appreciate his gifts and to get in touch with his true nature. To be honest, she doesn’t really get Phil, but sets him the same homework task anyway. On today's episode, Phil was played by Tom Fahey (Catch him weekly on ‘The Quest Inn at the Centre of the Universe’ podcast @questinnpodcast on Instagram) and Egbert was played by Hill Kuttner (@derhugel on Instagram).

Prue Blake and Becky Swannick – Wendy and Phoebe, Part 2

Something untoward happened when Wendy went to Coles on her homework task: she met a cis man named Anthony. Unlike Phoebe, Anthony has nothing in common with Wendy – and Wendy is smitten. Fuelled by jealousy, Fee’s “Grimace” returns with a vengeance, so Karen asks her to identify her relationship patterns – particularly the size of her exes’ breasts. Wendy and Fee have to accept that the future they once envisioned may not happen, but Karen reminds them that it’s not Anthony’s fault for being tall and beautiful with clear skin. On today's episode, Wendy was played by Prue Blake (@prueyyy on Instagram) and Fee was played by Becky Swannick (@mr.beckyswannick on Instagram).

Ange Chan and Stefan Sgarioto – Charmaine and Greg, Part 1

Taco Tuesdays aren’t happening at Charmaine and Greg's house anymore and there's a pretty good reason for that. These housemate-besties have lived together since their early twenties and made a deal that, if neither of them was married by 30, they’d pop out a baby together. But Greg uses Karen’s safe space to reveal he can’t follow through with their plan because he’s fallen in love with a guy called Jared. Shocked to discover that the gay porn on Greg’s computer wasn’t downloaded for her, Charmaine must accept that Greg is no longer her rock, but is instead rock har——yeh nah too much. Things get disturbing when we find out what Charmaine does at ALDI and Karen sets a homework task that could go horribly wrong. On today's episode, Charmaine was played by Ange Chan (check out her amazing designs at angechan.com) and Greg was played by Stefan Sgarioto (@stefansgarioto on Instagram).

Taylor Griffiths and Nikki Spunde – Mandy and Trudy Garland, Part 1

Trudy Garland was Mandy’s mum’s Tupperware lady and when Mandy ordered six salad spinners, sparks flew. But passion gave way to problems when Trudy Garland left Mandy on a bean-bag at the Moonlight Cinema and went in search of cinnamon flavoured popcorn. Is this a classic case of a free-spirit pairing up with a grounded logical type, or is there something bigger – perhaps generational – at play? Karen probes. And then gets triggered. On today's episode, Mandy was played by Taylor Griffiths (@grapefruitbby on Instagram) and Trudy Garland was played by Nikki Spunde (@nikkispunde on Instagram).

Minisode – Pescel's Return

He's back! A therapist is forever and Pescel Mirvington is no exception. Breaking Karen down with puppet therapy and a deep disdain for the Presbyterian church, Pescel nurses his fragile client back to health with the love of a mother and the ethics of a disgraced hypnotist. On today's episode, Pescel was played by Jacob Sacher (@JacobSacher on Twitter).

Tom Fahey and Hill Kuttner – Egbert and Phil, Part 2

In season one’s longest counselling session, Egbert reveals himself a changed man. He’s got confidence, charisma and pectoral-implants – but are they silicone or saline? While Phil remains devoted to his partner, he’s not a hundred percent okay with all the changes. And Karen is not a hundred percent okay with Egbert and Phil having dinner with Pescel! Drama ensues. On today's episode, Phil was played by Tom Fahey (Catch him weekly on ‘The Quest Inn at the Centre of the Universe’ podcast @questinnpodcast on Instagram) and Egbert was played by Hill Kuttner (@derhugel on Instagram).

Ange Chan and Stefan Sgarioto – Charmaine and Greg, Part 2

With their creepy-real latex skin, heartbeats and camera eyes, Karen’s doll-babies prove her most challenging homework task yet. Would-be mum Charmaine has spent a week crying over fake poo, while Greg has joined a mothers’ group and is loving life with baby ‘Vi-vi’. In Karen’s corner we learn that a past as a 90s raver doesn’t qualify you to be a hip Melbourne queer in 2018, but remember when Dangerfield sold glitter pots? On today's episode, Charmaine was played by Ange Chan (check out her amazing designs at angechan.com) and Greg was played by Stefan Sgarioto (@stefansgarioto on Instagram).

Taylor Griffiths and Nikki Spunde – Mandy and Trudy Garland, Part 2

Everyone’s favourite May–December couple is back and you won’t believe what they’ve learnt from their gratitude journals! Mandy (21) now embraces Instagram, Vodka Cruisers and flakiness, while Trudy Garland (‘not a Baby Boomer’) has amassed an impressive real-estate portfolio. They also discover a cross-generational appreciation of ‘me-me’s’ and announce an exciting upcoming public appearance! As usual, Karen gets triggered and overshares. On today's episode, Mandy was played by Taylor Griffiths (@grapefruitbby on Instagram) and Trudy Garland was played by Nikki Spunde (@nikkiviveca on Instagram).

Jayden Masciulli and Jenni Townsend – The Ballad of Lachie and Charlotte

In the riveting season finale, Karen meets meek-and-mild Charlotte and her hyper-masculine partner, Lachie. Karen thinks Char needs to be more assertive, because Lachie is clearly prioritising ‘the boys’ from the footy club (and ‘bush bashing’ in his Holden Barina) over her. When Lachie eventually turns up to the counselling session, Karen works her magic on the self-proclaimed ‘metrosexual prankster’, and Charlotte is finally able to Lach it down! On today's episode, Charlotte was played by Jenni Townsend (@fiberopticduck on Instagram) and Lachie was played by Jayden Masciulli (@jaymasciulli and @hitbyablimpcomedy on Instagram).
